Description
Ratnaswaroopavadanakavyam is the second lyric poetry composed by Sanatana Kavi Rewaprasad Dwivedi depicting the life sketch and contributions of Sankaracharya Jagadguru Swami Swaroopanand Sarasvati ji in 306 verses. Swamiji was born in the village Dighauri situated in Srivani presently known as Sivani district in Madya Pradesh. The horoscope of Swamiji is printed in the book. Swamiji laid the foundation of a huge temple of Ratneshvaramahadeva at his birthplace and a huge temple of Goddess Rajarajeshwari at the hills of Jhoteshwara near Sridhama or Gotegaon district of Madhya Pradesh.
Efforts made by Swamiji for the welfare and upliftment of society are mentioned in detail in the lyric. Swamiji made special efforts to stop the conversion of Hindus into Christianity. He holds the credit to sponsor number of welfare schemes for the general people and especially for the adivasis of Madhya Pradesh. The poet has composed number of verses depicting importance of Kashi Tirtaha and also the religious, political, cultural and social importance of the region wherein the holy river Narmada use to flow. Swamiji is Yogishwara in real sense. He holds the jurisdiction over religious entity of half of the country because he happens to be the Shankaracharya of two pithas viz. Dwaraka and Badrikashram.
