Description

Jayendrasarasvatipadavadanakavyam is a lyric poetry composed by Sanatanakavi Rewaprasad Dwivedi in 123 verses in 2011, which depicts the contribution of Swami Jayendra Sarasvati of Kanchi Tirtha in the preservation and propagation of the principles of Sanatana Dharma all over India. Swamiji established temples, education institutions like schools and universities, hospitals like Shankar Netralaya. He stopped downtrodden Hindus from adopting Christianity. The holy city of Kanchi use to be the epic centre of his all the religious and social activities, which has completely changed with the great efforts of Swamiji.

Swamiji established a huge temple at Allahabad named Shankarmandapa at the bank of river Ganga.

The Avadanakavyas composed by Sanatanakavi use to preserve the major contribution of three Saints of our country. In the entire past tradition of Sanskrit Literature we hardly find any such poetic work which mainly depict the overall life sketch and various types of contributions of religious leaders like Shankaracharyas. Series of this trend of composition appears to be introduced for the first time in the modern Sanskrit poetry. Sanskrit poets have not only concentrated on the depiction of the Avadana of political leaders who hold powerful position, but also present and preserve for the future generation contributions of number of religious leaders and freedom fighters.
